Having a very limited knowledge of illustrator,
this session taught me the basic elements I needed to know to use the software.
The first task that was set was to follow simple instructions on screen
teaching me different techniques and skills.
The next task we were set was to import a
previously sketched ‘g’ by Simon into illustrator. Then using the skills learnt
in the first task draw around the image using the pen tool. Next we were told
to create a similar letter-form using the shape tool, joining them all together
and forming it into a ‘g’ using the pen tool.
The final task was to refine the letter-forms,
working on their aesthetic to make them more equal and smooth.
