Alphabet Soup - Workshop
As part of the summer brief we were all asked to
collect 30 different examples of each letter of the alphabet. In our blog
groups we were asked to assemble these letters into categories, whether it be
colour, serif, sans-serif, upper-case or lower-case.
In our group we decided to arrange all of the
letters by colour. However instead of just having them in a pile, we arranged them
in a circular pattern. We started with pink in the middle, moving through
purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, brown and finishing with black, as
that was the colour we had the most of.
Once all of our letters had been arranged, the actual form of each individual letter was diminished and the focus was now on the colour and the appearance of the overall piece.
